The warmest, most breathable in the range
Wool has changed considerably over the past several years. This natural material is warm, soft, breathable, stretchy and odour-free. This makes it the perfect material for skiing or snowboarding. The 20% wool, which is strongly insulating, ensures natural warmth. Combining it with polyester guarantees good comfort throughout your activity. The sleeve cuffs provide a real barrier to prevent air from getting inside
Perspiration wicking
A non-brushed material that is more stretchy than the main material has been used at the back of the knees for good perspiration wicking.
Product Reviews
Very pleased with the acquisition.
I bought these as a base layer for motorcycling. Specialist motorcycle clothing companies do base layers, but they're generally more expensive than these, so I decided to give them a try. They work well under biking trousers, which include a warm lining, armour in the hips and knees, and relatively heavy waterproof outer fabric. In other words, they're comfortable underneath a lot of other stuff. The fit is snug, and the wicking is good, so they perform their role as part of a set of layers that keep me warm in single-digit temperatures exposed to the 50-plus-mph winds that you face on a bike.
So far have only used for a 5 day sailing trip - UK coastal waters, late November... quite cold, very wet, long days sailing from dawn until well after dark. Worn under a set of foul-weather salopettes ("oilies") with no "mid-layer", these kept me very warm, even during periods of inactivity whilst on deck. Every confidence they're at least as good as their predecessors in terms of ski use - will find out in February!
