These are dangerous, they have absolutely no grip at all, more like the opposite really, very slippery on my pedals, the soles feel like waxed plasric and assisted my feet moving off the pedals. Shame as they are quite comfy and kept my feet warm. Going back to Five Tens.
bulky, heavy, slippery on pedals
Bought as an Xmas pressie, and feedback has been positive on both fit and comfort. As wearer has not progressed to SPDs yet I've just filled in the little screw holes on the sole with some of your wetsuit glue..
Good product, reasonably priced.
I have used these shoes every week for the past 3 months, I’m a 42 but needed larger 44 size. Very comfortable great value, good quality. unfortunately as the temperature is starting to drop they lack warmth and are not waterproof, so only designed for summer cycling.currently looking for an overshoes that fits.
My first ever cycling shoe so did not want to break the bank in case I didn’t get on with them but after fitting the cleats and feeling the difference when peddling I am not looking back. Only used on life fitness indoor spinning bike. Shoes are comfortable and look good. I’m a size 8 but after trying one on in the store I opted for an 8 1/2. Great purchase, another bargain at Decathalon.
These need to be advertised as clip in cycling shoes
Comfy and nice
I got these for shorter rides with my girlfriend where comfort is more important than performance. The soles offer no support and after 2-3 miles I have a burning sensation on the balls of both feet. The shoes also offer no fore/aft adjustment of the cleats so setting up the correct cleat position is impossible. Well and truly a waste of money in my opinion.
I've owned several pairs of SPD shies, but these are soo comfortable and well built. Would highly recommend these. As for size, they're spot on.
These are a trainer style cycling shoe, which fits well and was easy to fit the clip. These are replacements for my road style cycling shoes which I didn't like as they were difficult to walk in. These shoes recess the clip, but this does not seem to affect getting them on the pedal, but allows you to walk in them when you get off the bike. The size fitted me perfectly. I would recommend.
I've just purchased these shoes, did my first ride in them today and they were shocking.my feet kept slipping off the peddles, had no traction when trying to peddle up hill, and when coming down I couldn't keep my feet on. These were a bad purchase
Needed a new pair of shoes for my bike commute, these shoes are a very good fit, decent sole, firm enough for pedalling and soft enough for walking in.
This shoes are excellent. Comfy to wear whilst on the bike and no issues walking around short distances, the grip is good for sections where you need to push the bike etc. I've used these on probably 1500km+ and no issues so far. The fit was exactly as expected,
The item that I brought is for my husband at Christmas. He has no idea that he is receiving the mountain bike shoes.

Sometimes the terrain will force you to push or carry your mountain bike. We've therefore come up with a hybrid sole inspired by trail running (for grip on the ground) and mountain biking (for grip on the pedals) to keep you comfortable and supported whether walking or cycling. Its heel stiffener and flex grooves keep you comfortable when walking. And its multidirectional lugs drain water and mud whether going uphill or downhill, walking or cycling
Why should a pair of mountain bike shoes be less comfortable than a pair of trainers? As well as the stretchy fabric and special shape on the inside, it has a 3D mesh top, sides and tongue. The fabric is great at wicking perspiration and being comfortable. The heel is also lined with foam. The ROCKRIDER team has made a design choice to put comfort at the heart of its tests and decisions, with no compromises.
The team has decided to add a small, elasticated tongue to the middle of the laces so that you can keep them tidy and stop them from touching the bike's chain. Smart, eh?
The ST 100 shoes have a reinforced toe box: a blend of PU and PES placed in areas that are likely to be struck by stones or bash against rocks.
You can use our size guide (higher up near the sizing section) to choose your shoe size according to the length and width of your feet. For slightly wider feet, consider getting one size bigger than normal.
When you start mountain biking, clipless pedals aren't necessarily your priority. This is why these shoes grip the pedals well, even without cleats. And if you want to take the plunge, the sole has a rigid section for fixing cleats without having to adjust everything!Easily attach your SPD cleats thanks to the 2 holes (usually 4) and a reference guide engraved into the surface of the sole.
Which cleats and/or pedals can you use with your shoes? For the best fit, use the following models:-BTWIN SPD DUAL 500-BTWIN SPD CLIPLESS 100-BTWIN SPD CLIPLESS 520-SHIMANO SPD DUAL M324-SHIMANO SPD CLIPLESS M520-SHIMANO SPD CLIPLESS XT-M780Compatibility with ENDURO / FREERIDE clipless platform pedals is not guaranteed (e.g. B'Twin SPD Clipless 540, Shimano SPD Clipless Enduro XT-M8020, Shimano SPD Clipless M424). For these pedals, you will need to try them first.
Here's something we noticed: when you start mountain biking, you spend some time on your bike but some next to it.To give you a shoe that is equally comfortable for walking and cycling, our four-person team spent two years designing, prototyping, and performing lab and field tests with 50 different people. The result is a shoe that gives you grip when walking and when riding on mountain bike trails.
We'll leave you with a few tips from our mountain bike design team:"Even without cleats, these shoes grip the pedal well so you can push off without worrying about slipping and having the pedal whack you in the shin. It's also a chance to try out cleats without breaking the bank. To avoid any nasty falls, tuck the loops of your laces under the elastic band in the middle of the foot!"
