You put on the race number belt at the first transition after taking off your neoprene wetsuit and keep it until the triathlon finish line. It is worn with the bib in the back during the bike leg, and at the front during the run leg.

The race number belt is worn on your hips for stability. Made from a stretchy material, you can adjust it to your liking. Avoid over-tightening the belt so it doesn't ride up.
