Just getting back into cycling and needed a no thrills shoe to get started with. I am an 8 in size, however, as having bought Decathlon Shoes before at an 8 and wished I had gone half a size up, I opted for the 8.5 and they fit brilliantly. No complaints from me.
DO THE JOB
I couldnt be more pleased. Good quality and very cheap. Thank you Decathlon
I bought a pair of these for my commute, which is a 15 miles round trip, plus short weekend rides of no more than 20 miles. I've had them for around 3 months, and I've probably ridden around 500 miles in that time on Shimano PD-M520 cleats and pedals. They were comfy straight out of the box, and I've had no issues with blisters or foot pain. The fit is secure, and they are just about the right stiffness for me to be able to ride hard, and be able to walk up 3 flights of stairs when I get to work.
Just magnificent value . Really well made , all essential features and some extra ! I would even recommend that you buy a 2nd pair ... Why spend £100s on other "Technical" shoes ?... these give you everything you need at a price that is unbelievable. As a "Starter" in cycling , I didnt want to spend lots. I am completely astonished at the quality , features and price of this great product .
More like a MTB shoe. Hard work to cut out rubber insert to allow pedal cleat to be fitted. Otherwise appear to be good so far.
Despite how they're advertised these aren't road shoes Also the rubber block you have to cut off to get to the cleat holes is absolutely ridiculous. This is what you get trying to cheap out
These shoes are advertised as road cycling shoes, however once I received them and worked out how to expose the holes for the cleans, it is very clear that these are MTB shoes. I have requested a refund.
The shoes themselves are fine so far (I've used them for less than a week). However there are no instructions with them for fitting the cleat. I am new to this sort of shoe and I'm not sure how I was meant to guess that I such take a strong knife and cut a chunk of plastic out of the bottom of each shoe to reveal a mounting plate for the cleat. Having found a Youtube review I worked it out eventually but what should have been a fairly quick job took well over an hour (coupled with the fact that I didn't have a suitable knife to cut the plastic). Better instructions are required along with warning of the tools required.
No instructions for the fitting of cleats be frustrating BUT I eventually fathomed it out. On the bottom of the shoe is a peel arrow. With a sharp knife cut the rubber flowing the line around the big chunk in the middle it has a pic of the cleat on it. Peel the chunk of rubber off to reveal the holes and threads to attach your cleats. It all seem a bit drastic but works for me
Just received the shoes and they appear really good quality and very comfortable. However arrived in a bag with no instructions at all as to how to fit the cleats. Is there any information on how to fit Keo cleats to these shoes?
These shoes were comfortable, right out of the box. Great value for the money. But I have to echo what a lot of people are saying: there are no instructions on how to fit the cleats. A simple diagram would do. The fitting might be obvious to people with more experience – I don't know? But if it's the first time you've come across shoes like this – you're in for a long installation. Please include some instructions.
Bought these for my son (12) as a first pair of cycling shoes. He loves them and is now 2kph faster with his feet clipped in. Echoing everyone elses comments the removal of the piece of rubber was a journey of discovery. I could do both shoes in 1 minute now but prior to that I was afraid of damaging the shoes when using a box cutter. It's good to see Decathlon are listening and will add some instructions. There are a couple of vids on youtube as well but maybe Decathlon could do their own.
Really poor instructions for SPD beginner shoes and after removing the rubber block under the shoe to expose the SPD fixing block found that my Shimano SPD cleats do not fit the shoes as the screw holes just do not line up. Am I missing something here? Any help would be appreciated.
Hello. Thank you for leaving a review. Could you please send me some photos of the problem as I would like to take a look and see why the SPD cleats are not fitting to the shoe.
