Light warmth

I had one of Decathlon’s better padded jackets, but I found it to bulky/padded and too hot. This with a base layer is perfect just the right amount of warmth, good resistance to wind. For this price amazing value. Fault? Mine arrived bundled up with elastic around it. When unwrapped it is covered in creases after 2 weeks or more these creases have not dropped out. They may if washed, but do not want to do this so early. Is there another way these could be packed. I would still recommend

For the price it's good value

It's not a down jacket and it has its limitations but considering the price I am pleased with it. On my most recent camping trip the temperatures were down around 2-3 °C and the jacket worked well with my base and mid-layers to keep me warm. So I would recommend this coat but if you can afford it, I'd still suggest buying a down jacket - or maybe have both for different weather conditions.

Great value for money

Great jacket bought as an under layer jacket for work in the winter , , light , not bulky , very good value for money , so I bought another one

Great cheap jacket

Bought for my dog training classes where sometimes other dogs jump up and catch your clothing. I wanted something warm and cheap. This jacket completely filled the bill.

A lightweight jacket that's great value for money

Brought this as a 2nd or 3rd layer and was surprised how warm this is under my waterproof jacket. Perfect for those cooler autumn nights when worn as a 2nd or 3rd layer. My own little quibble as that I'm a small it was a little on the tight side and the arms were little long for a medium , but for the price - hey what's not to love? Especially how really good value for money this jacket is!

Good value

Good value jacket does the job fine. The medium size is slightly small on me but Decathlon sizes are usually on the small size. If in doubt always go up a size.

Great value

Bought as a cheap lightweight spare jacket to go in the boot of the car. Ended up forgetting to pack anything else, so this has been my only jacket while on holiday on the Orkney island group. I've found this jacket to be great value for money. It's wind resistance is great, and it coped with 40 minutes of heavy driving rain perfectly well. While i'd not recommend this jacket for extreme environments, coupled with a pair of inner layers, and a rain shell, it's done it's job admirably well within it's design. Generous side pockets, but no inside pocket. No bells or whistles, hood, drawstring, etc but none of that matters at this price point.

Very comfortable lightweight jacket

Very comfy, light everyday jacket. Not worn in very bad weather, but isn't sold as an extreme jacket! Very good value

Review of jacket

Lightweight but zip on pocket broke in a couple of months (NB not wear every day)

A 'go-to' jacket

This is a great 'go-to' jacket, light enough yet warm enough for those cool moments. It folds down well and is perfect to crush into a day sack for extra warmth if and when needed.

Additional Product informations

Main fabric

  • 100% Polyester

Main lining

  • 100% Polyester

  • 100% Polyester

Check out the eco-design of this padded jacket!

The filling of this padded jacket is made from 90% recycled polyester fibres. For the lining, we use a “bi-ton” dyeing process where only one thread in every two is dyed. This dyed thread is also the result of dope dyeing which incorporates the colour pigments from the initial thread manufacture to avoid the use of dyeing baths and reduce our water consumption. This process can reduce CO2 emissions by 40% compared to traditional dyeing methods.

Thermal insulation

This padded jacket, when worn as a 3rd layer, has a temperature rating of 0°C that was certified during a standardised test in a thermal chamber. The model is wearing a synthetic long-sleeved T-shirt and a light fleece underneath. It works with a simulated 5 km/h wind.In our heat comparison tool, this is equivalent to 1 star.We have also tested this model in "static" mode; its temperature rating is +10°C in this case.

Technical information on the wadding

We use a 100% polyester wadding (90% recycled): 100 g/sqm in the body and 60 g/sqm in the sleeves.

Our advice in the event of rain

The material of the quilted jacket is water repellent. This means that drops of water roll off the fabric preventing them from soaking into the padded jacket as quickly, giving you time to find some shelter. But the padded jacket is not waterproof. We therefore recommend wearing a waterproof jacket over the down jacket in the event of prolonged exposure to rain.

Water repellent property of component (not to be confused with waterproofing)

The water repellent property of a fabric is its ability to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight and warm. The fabric of this down jacket is water repellent, however, we recommend that you wear a waterproof jacket over it in case of rain. The fabric is made water-repellent by treating (PFC-free) its outer surface, however this property may deteriorate with use.We recommend that you restore it after each wash.

How to restore water-repellent properties?

Once you have cleaned your padded jacket, we recommend you use a water-repellent reactivator spray to preserve the hydrophobic properties of the outer fabric. To renew the fabric’s water-repellent properties and optimise performance throughout the lifespan of your garment.

The benefits of synthetic wadding

Synthetic filling is a useful alternative to feathers:- It has good thermal insulation capacity, even when wet- It provides greater breathability and may be recommended in the case of dynamic activity (feather down is recommended for static activity)- Easy care: machine wash at 30°C and tumble dry

A snag? this is how to repair your down jacket

A tear on a padded jacket can happen when trekking! The good news is that it can be repaired so the tear doesn’t get any bigger or to stop the feathers from escaping.Don't you feel at ease carrying out this repair yourself? Don't worry! Our in-store Decathlon workshops offer a repair service to mend your padded jacket using a heat-bonded patch.

A score for comparing products' environmental impact

The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle using various indicators. A score from A to E is given to help you easily identify the most eco-friendly products by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.) Decathlon is a voluntary supporter of this environmentally-friendly labelling approach.
