Does the job

Fully aware that these are manufactured by KMC (just ever so slightly cheaper), I was still surprised to see the brand name on the chain itself. However, I found the missing link much harder to put on than the usual KMC and was disappointed that it showed signs of rust in under 2 weeks! After a clean and re-lube it has since been fine and I can possibly put the rust down to salts on the road during icy weather. Reports of the chain being noisy? It seems fine to me. I guess only time will tell, but so far, it does the job.

Very poor quality.

4 months and 200 miles later, it snapped. Went back and was told that this is wear and tear. Yes the chain was lubed regularly, with Decathlon oil as well... Chain was changed at the same time as the cassette and chain ring.

Good value but hard to fit

This chain lasts well for the price :) BUT BEWARE - trying to fit one without KMC's "missing link pliers" is really hard work (not something that's made clear on the packaging)!

Cycle chain

Good value

Poor chain life.

I purchased two of these, one to replace the chain on my Btwin 500 and the other as a spare. The first one lasted about 1250 dry summer miles and it started slipping gears, checked it with a chain checker and it was way beyond the 1 percent wear mark. I fitted the second and after 4 weeks around 350 miles of use it has now moved beyond the 1 percent wear mark on the chain checker. The chain was well lubed and cleaned after every ride. It is cheap but you get what you pay for and I would recommend buying something of a bit better quality.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review of your chain.
Indeed, the wear does sound very premature therefore it may well be worth bringing the bike in for a checkup to be sure the premature wear isn't coming from other sources such as a worn chain ring or rear cassette. The chain is made by KMC, a well respected manufacturer and is widely used by many other brands.
If you are not entirely satisfied with your chain, please don't hesitate to return it to us for a refund or an exchange.

Replacement chain

Had chain replaced on my btwin triban 500. Great staff to deal with both on the phone and in store at Sheffield. Fab mechanics who take the time to explain work carried out and maintenance tips. Certainly recommend to anyone

Good chain

Seeing that my last chain broke on it's first day out, Decathlon replaced it free of charge with this one, which up to now has been good.

Great value

As it says on the tin. Cheap price and good quality. They changed it for me too for a very good price.

Not worth the money

Had this chain fitted 2 months ago. At 1st everything seemed ok. Shifting was quick and quite. Have done less than 400 miles, keep chain clean and lubed, but can fell it stretching. Checked it at the weekend and it already needs changing. Would expect to get 1000-2000 miles as most is on the road so have not put a lot of strain on the chain.

I'm sorry to read that the chain has worn out with so few miles. This is made by KMC so it should be of great quality. Being a regular cyclist, I can assume that your  cassette and chainrings are in good shape (which if not can cause premature chainwear). If you feel the chain is faulty and/or not up to standard, please return it to us with your receipt for a replacement.
