Self sealing innertubes

Bought these to fit in New bike I used these before in my old bike got 2 big thorns in front tyre and 2 in the back I had slime inner tube in rear tyre I pulled the thorns out inflated the tyres and rode home there still inflated I would say the decathlon tubes are better and cheaper for a fiver I would definitely recommend them

Inner tubes

It was a very easy way to get the inner tubes and would use them again

It’s not a flat white

Excellent value for money and your not left pushing instead of riding.

The tubes are easy to fit and feel a little bumpy on the first ride but they soon settle in and offer a comfy ride.they are good value and have a really long valve which is great

I normally buy the original Slime tubes and never had a problem. Bought two of these and both failed a FPS had to carry my bike crack to the car.

I'm so sorry to read that the innertube did not seal correctly. I must say that my own personal experience with this product has been very positive but on this occasion clearly something went amiss. As long as you keep riding and the hole is no larger than a mm or two (from a thorn for example), the innertube should do it's job. It seems that this was not the case on this occasion.
If you feel it is faulty and/or not fit for purpose, please return the item to us.

Slime tubes

Not had a puncture yet since installing them as I am aware. So gatherthey must be working as I’ve done quite a lot of off-road riding on them.

Good product with reasonable price

Bought this weeks ago for my flatmate who ride bikes to commute to work everyday. He said it was really useful and the instruction made it easy to install. He likes this type of inner tube sooooo much.

I am a beginner for decathlon product, for this product, it looks good on the website. And I will try later.

I got a nail through my tyre and it went flat. Doesn't do want the picture implies. waste of money and has sludge rolling around inside the tube. better of getting a normal inner tube

I'm sorry to read that the innertube has not performed as intended. I use a similar version on my road bike and it's certainly saved me from having a flat from flint and small thorns on a few occasions. As long as you keep riding the liquid inside should plug the hole, if you stop then it won't do it's job. The trick is to keep riding and the liquid inside (all innertubes of this nature function the same way) should start to plug the gap. I would agree however that not all punctures can be plugged, tyre pinching is always an issue. The image may also exaggerate the capabilities of the product, that I agree with you.
If you are not happy with the innertube, you can of course return it to us for an exchange.

Poor Valve make product useless

Poor valve means both my pumps will not hold and thus cannot get more than 40 PSI. Bike / Tyre requires 65 psi. Adapter won't hold on to valve so even 40 psi is a guess. Veryt frustrating. Add to that the vide shows a schreder valve in use and you wonder why. Maybe the video makers could not get it to hold either? Bought two. Usually I would drill my rims to use the car type schreder valves but thought I'd give these a chance. WRONG!

Hi Stuart,

Sorry to hear about the issue you have come across with getting the self healing tube to inflate properly. Having used both the 27.5 & 29 version in store I haven't come across this issue which leads me to think there must be a fault with the 2 (batch) that you bought. I would suggest to take the tube & wheel into your local store to see if they have the same issue when trying to inflate over 40psi. If so I'd get them to exchange the tubes for you and fit them to make sure the same problem doesn't occur.

Verursacht Unwucht

Ansonsten ok.

How to choose your inner tube

Check all the information indicated on the sidewall of the tyre (diameter and width). For example, 29x1.90 means that the tyre is 29 inches in diameter and 1.90 inches wide.On the tyre sidewall you will also find the dimensions in mm in ETRTO international units. For example, 50-622 means that the tyre is 50mm wide with a 622mm internal diameter (approx. 29x1.90).

Removing an inner tube

Remove the old inner tube using B'Twin tyre levers.

Checks to carry out before installing an inner tube

Check the condition of your tyre and replace it if necessary.Make sure no objects are lodged in the tyre.Check the condition of your tyre rim strip.A rim strip that is even slightly bent can cause punctures.Check that your rim does not have any other issues that could damage your inner tube

Mounting the inner tube

Watch our video before you start.Pre-inflate the inner tube slightly to avoid pinching.Insert the valve, making sure you are using the correct valve for your rim.Put the inner tube entirely inside the tyre so that it fits inside the rim.Take care not to pinch the inner tube when fitting.

Mounting the tyre

Start by mounting the tyre onto the wheel on the opposite side to the valve.Finish mounting the tyre at the valve to avoid pinching the inner tube.Never mount your tyre with a tool or a tyre lever, as you risk pinching and puncturing the inner tube.

Inflating the tyre

Inflate your tyre carefully, to the pressure recommended by the manufacturer (visible on the tyre sidewall in PSI or bars, 1 bar = 14.51 PSI).Regularly check that your tyre is in the correct position as you inflate it.

Tip from the pros

To prevent any puncture from pinching and to achieve the best performance, we recommend checking and, if necessary, pumping up your front tyre before each ride.
