The hood can be removed thanks to the press studs. Its height can be adjusted using an elasticated cord, and its depth adjusted using a Velcro tab located at the back of the hood.

Construction of the jacket

This jacket is constructed with 2 coated layers, including a mesh lining (large mesh lining)‘2 layers’ means there is the outer fabric and the lining.A coating is applied to the inside of the fabric, it is similar to a resin that makes the component waterproof, while remaining breathable. The inner lining of the jacket has the role of protecting this coating

Waterproofness test

Waterproofing is measured by a fabric’s resistance to water pressure expressed in mm of water column (JIS 1092 standard). The higher the water pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. The component of this product has a waterproof rating of 5000 mm, i.e. it can withstand the pressure exerted by a 5000 mm column of water. This is also equivalent to 5 000 Schmerbers.

Breathability test

Component breathability is measured by its thermal evaporative resistance (RET).This is its capacity to let water vapour generated by the body during physical activity escape and therefore avoid water accumulating on the skin. The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric.RET ≤ 6: very breathable fabricRET ≤ 12: breathable fabricRET ≤ 20: little breathabilityOur product has a 12 RET rating

How do i restore my jacket's water-repellent properties?

The water-repellent property of a fabric is its capacity to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from soaking up water and keeps it lightweight and breathable. The fabric is made water-repellent by treating its outer surface, however this property may deteriorate with use.

Great

Would be better if it had bigger pockets

Waterproof and Windbreaking

This waterproof is so cool and comfortable that we bought a second one each. They are our go to for wind breakers when walking or camping. They are light weight and easily fit into a bag. We take them everywhere with us. I bought an XXL as a size 14 lady because I like the extra room to wear warm clothing underneath.

Value-for-money waterproof jacket

I used this jacket in the rain few times, both when walking and instead of a storm suit on a motorbike (which I could thanks to the detachable hood). It fits well, though I'm male. As long as the rain is not heavy or continues for a long time, the jacket is perfect. It's light, quickly dries and comfortable. With heavy long rain I would recommend something more heavy duty. Also, in very cold weather, consider wearing an additional warming layer. Lastly, the side pockets are a bit small, and might not accommodate some smartphones. The bottom line is that this is a perfect product for a not-so-cold and not-too-rainy climates, and a very good value for money.
