700 (28") Road Wheel Rim Tape / ETRTO 16-622

Just to let you know, there are 2 in a box.

Single sheet of plastic rimming. Lined it up over the valve inlet and worked the band over. Don't rush the job - there is no need. rubbed it round with a cloth to make sure it is all in place and am left with a really sweet seal - definitely better than conventional tape. Have put the wheel back on taking care over the valve area as there did not seem to be much space - but after the tyre was inflated the fit appears to be perfect.

This is probably nothing against the Decathlon version of this product. I usually get the sticky cotton tape type rim tape. Unfortunately they didn't have it in the shop. So I bought this instead. The continuous circle of unyielding plastic is hard to get on the rim. What is worse, it doesn't sit right down in the rim like the cotton tape does, so when putting the tyre on you have to get it to stretch further/force this tape to flex into the groove, making it incredibly difficult a two man job in fact. It also seems to have resulted in me pinching the inner tube, and causing a slow puncture. It is such hard work, I don't want to have to take the tyre off the fix it! Sticking with the cotton tape variety in the future, none of these problems with that.
