How to change an inner tube

Before starting, watch our step-by-step video.Pre-inflate, insert the valve correctly in the rim, fit the inner tube into the tyre and avoid pinching it as you install it.

To remove your inner tube, the tools you'll need are:

Always start by fitting the tyre into position at the valve end, and work your way round to finish on the opposite side with forcing or resorting to tools.

To take proper care of your bike, it's important to know the exact dimensions of your tyres.This information is given on the tyre sidewall (diameter and cross-section). For example, 26 x 2.20 means a tyre with a 26-inch diameter and 2.2 inches wide. On the tyre sidewall you will also find the dimensions in mm in ETRTO international units.
